Water Skiing In Italy
Water skiing in Italy is commonly termed as nautical skiing and is one of the favourite and growing recreational activities of Italian aside from snow skiing. Italy is internationally represented by Italian Water Ski Federation and is a duly affiliated member at the International Water Ski Federation and Italy National Olympic Committee.
For so many years, Italian nautical skiers have been known in water skiing sports all over the world. One of the famous Italian nautical skiers who are known in the world of water skiing sports is Lanfranco Columbus. Italian water skiers like Terracciano Silvia and Gagliardi Vittorio are among the top three winners in Senior 2 Ladies Tricks and Senior 1 Men Jump from the recently concluded 2006 IWSF World Senior Trophy Championships and EAME Senior Championships. Luzzeri Matteo and Vassallo Sergio are likewise Italian skiers that landed in one of the top three places in the recent 2006 Michailidis Masters.
And there is also one good website that caters to water ski enthusiasts in Italy called Scinauticando. It features news and updates about water skiing in and out of Italy. It is good source of information for all matters that are related in this water sports. The site also serves as an online community for Italian water skiers because Scinauticando has a forum where members can discuss and share their ideas about water ski sports. They also have a section called eSki that features announcements or things that skiers may want to sell or buy. I liked its new logo and website interface because it clearly expresses that nautical skiing is such a fun water sports that can be engaged by both children and adult.
Lastly, Italy has a good numbers of water skiing resorts that has good facilities to engage slalom, trick and jump water skiing like Ravenna Water Ski Club, Water ski Recetto and Sperlonga Water Ski Resort.
