Water Ski Racing

— November 20, 2006

I used to mistaken water ski racing as the same thing with water ski tournament but after some time, I found out that ski racing is a separate competition in water skiing. Water ski racing is one the types of competitive water skiing just like slalom, jump, trick and show ski.

But unlike other competitive water skiing discipline, water ski racing is actually a boat race with a skier attached on its end. The skier while being towed fast by the motor boat is avoiding the line dipping into the water without falling off.

Ski racers and their boats race over the 80 kilometre course with a speed of around 160 km/h. Water ski races can either held against a period or time or a set of distance. Speed and endurance are the essence of this race and this is a great water sport for people who are fascinated and have adrenalin for speed.
