The original plan of holding the 2008 IWSF Wakeboard World Championships in the beautiful island of the Philippines is cancelled. It is supposedly to be held in CamSur Watersports Complex come this July 1 to 6, 2008.  The exact dates for the said IWSF Cable Wakeboard World Championships are yet to be decided but more likely the new venue will be either in Kiev, Ukraine or Bursa, Turkey.

On the other hand, according to this report, Philippines through the World Wakeboard Association (WWA) will still be hosting an alternative event called the 2008 Wake Park World Championships on the July 1 to 6, 2008 at the same venue, CamSur Watersports Complex.

So you can still see the tropical island of the Philippines and feel the warm hospitality of the people there. But this event is not under the IWSF anymore as it is just an independent / alternative wakeboarding championship event.
