The Best Way To Master Wake Crossing
There are indeed many novice skiers who would like to know the best way to master the wake crossing, the one that are being observed by professional skiers. Is it through chest opened to the boat or with their shoulders back? And I read a great answer from Andy Mapple.
According to Andy Mapple, he himself is used to shoulders back. Mapple said that there are actually different degrees of how open to the boat you need to have your shoulders in a particular instance. And in the instance of crossing the wake, back means away or far from the boat. This is the same position that you are doing when participating in a tug-of-war where your opponents are directly in front of you.
Mapple further said that one thing to avoid when crossing is getting your shoulders too open off the back side of the turn. This will cause you to lose the ability to have the angle you need through the lower body. Stay your focus on your lower body and what direction it is going and then allow your upper body to follow along in a natural, strong position.
