The 2007 Slalom Shootout In Clermont
The WaterSki Magazine’s Slalom Shootout 2007 is set on this June 12-14 at Swiss Ski School, Clermont, Florida. This year’s Slalom Shootout is expected to be bigger and more exciting as the organizers prepare more activities and contests during the 3-day event.
The first day of the Slalom Shootout will kick-off with My WaterSKi Coach Clinic that features on-the-water coaching for participants. There will be also off-the-water instructions at sponsored tents about dry-land training, gear and technique demonstrations.
The first part of actual Slalom Shootout will take place on the second day, June 13. The first part of shootout is composed of one-round, men’s slalom tournament; “38 Off Spin it to Win It”, where the top 12 skiers from the open round will consecutively run 38-off passes until they fall or quit. The skier with the highest ball count wins.
The third day of Slalom Shootout will feature the ProAm Tournament; this is where participants will compete under handicapped, Class F tournament against three other skiers from each boat tea. Winners will get gear and other cool prizes. There will also be Cold 39 Contest where the top 12 skiers from the open round start the event at the 39.5 off pass and the so-called Head-to-Head Team Challenge where one skier from each team will ski behind his sponsor’s boat.
