One-handed Gate Skiing Style

One-handed gate or one hand gate is a style or technique that is used in slalom skiing. Many slalom skiers are eager to learn this style because it is about maintaining the skier’s speed and momentum. According to the WaterskiMag, the primary goal of the one-handed gate technique is to start the course with the same rhythm you plan to ski the course.

It is believed that when you are using the one-handed gate style, you can have more speed during the course. But did you know that the one-handed gate may not suit all slalom skiers? According to Schnitz, the one handed gate works for Jamie Beauchesne, Chris Rossi and Marcus Brown while Chris Parrish, Kristi Overton and Mike Morgan is not using this technique.
