Rob Mapp and Heather Johnson both wakeboarders from the United States were named as the named World Cable Wakeboarders of the Year by the World Cable Wakeboard Commission, which is a duly registered organization of the International Water Ski Federation.

The two athletes have won several championships for the year 2006 on their respective disciplines. Mapp is the twice consecutive champion of Open Men national title at the sixth annual Cable Wakeboard National Championships and grabbed the Open Men silver medal at the 4th Annual Cable Wakeboard World Championships. Johnson on the other hand ranks among the best all-around female wakeboard riders in the world who earned the Junior Women national title at the 2006 Cable Wakeboard National Championships.
