Is Water Skiing An Expensive Sport?
It is a fact that the water skiing is one of the most exciting sports that is performed in more 90 countries all over the world. Whether you are a skier or just a spectator, you can’t deny that this water sport really rocks with its awesome tricks and jumps! But of course, this is a sport that you can’t do anywhere and most people probably just watched this sport in their TV sets or computer.
Many are saying that water skiing is an expensive sport because you need to have a ski and it uses a boat. So true… but we really don’t need to buy a boat or even a ski if we want to try this sport. Nowadays, almost all water skiing resorts offer rental of skiing accessories and I think, it follows that there is no decent water skiing lake without a boat that is available for rent.
So for me, you don’t need to buy anything for this sport; however, you do need to spend some cash to try this sport because you need to rent the water skiing gears. But if you have a friend who has a ski, then probably you don’t need to rent one.
On the other hand, if you want to engage in this sport seriously, or if you want to participate in water skiing tournament in your school or in your region, then, there is a need for you to invest in a ski. Competing skiers need to have their own ski to increase their performance and their chance of winning. Because when you are already competing, you should not rely on just any ski that is available for rent. You need to have the one that really fits you perfectly.
Boat? No, I don’t think you really need to buy one unless you want to build your own team and you have money to spend that much. But a boat is not a requirement anymore. Even professional skiers don’t bring their own boats; in fact, only few of them own one.
Is water skiing expensive or not? Well, it does not need to be expensive at all especially if you know where to go and how to rent a ski. It can be tried by students and any individual who can afford to eat in a fast food during lunch. So if you want to try this sport, go on… just be sure you have few bucks on your pocket ![]()
