Experience Water Skiing With A Tube

— November 18, 2006

Have you heard of a water ski tube or water skiing with a tube? A tube is a specially made floatation device that is designed to be towed by a motor boat. The boat towed the tube just like in traditional water skiing. Using water ski tube is a very fun activity for those who wish to have an experience that is nearly similar to a real water skiing.

Ski tubes can be ridden by more than one person at a type depending on its size which makes tube skiing so much fun. You can try this activity even you do not have any skiing knowledge. This is a good family or group activity that can be engaged even with small kids.

With the growing popularity of water skiing with a tube, there are now several kinds of ski tubes that you can choose such as single rider tube, multi rider, standard tube design, deck tube, and ride-in tube.

Single rider tube is designed to accommodate one person at a time and because it only has one person on board, this kind of tube is suited for flying and high speed towing. Multi-rider ski tube is basically larger and can accommodate 2-6 people depending on size. This ski tube is highly recommended for families and groups but because this tube carries many people at a time, its skiing speed is slower.

Standard tube design is a tube wherein riders can either lay on their stomach or sit upright depending on the tube design. Deck tube is a flat designed tube where riders lay on their stomachs with their faces closer to the water. Ride-in tube is just like a boat where the people are sitting while being towed.

So if you are a skier who wants to extend skiing experience to your non-skier family or if you are a non-skier who wants to have an experience similar to actual water skiing, this is an absolutely great way experience the fun and easy water skiing activity. And oh, this can be also used as a fun way of introducing water skiing sports to your kids.

[…] I previously wrote about the different kinds of tube to experience the same great feeling of water skiing and because it is summer, this would be a great opportunity for your younger kids to enjoy the water skiing fast and safe without the hassle of training or teaching them the right skiing position. I will not deny the fact that it is better to teach them the fundamentals of water skiing through the use of a real ski but if your kids are too young or are not emotionally ready to undergo water ski training, why not just let them to enjoy the water skiing feeling?
