Do’s and Don’ts When Ski Racing
I just read some handy tips about things that you should and should not do when you are water ski racing. These tips came from Danny Cropper of DC Water Skis. He said that ski racers should eat before the race. They must also do some stretching or warm ups and cool down before and after ski racing. When walking up to a new crew, do not say “just go flat out, I’ll be right!”
Then Cropper also told that ski racers must not think about any other things other than skiing and do not get your capabilities mixed up with your ambitions. The skiers while racing should focus on skiing alone and do not mind other boats as It is the observers’ job.
While racing, skiers should bend their legs as it makes rough water heaps easier. Skiers should likewise adjust their rope according to the race and conditions. And lastly, bear in mind that failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Great tips!! One tip I have found to be useful when slalom skiing is to put my weight on my front foot. It prevents me from falling while crossing the wake, moves me faster, and glides me across the water. Also, stretching before skiing is a great tip. Alot of people forget, and it will cause some aches the next day if not done!!

Great tips, here are a few others that I try to keep in mind also.
Keep your arms straight, also keep your skis on edge as you pass thru both wakes, don’t put to much weight on you back foot as you turn.
Hope these few tips will help.
