AWSA Announced Approved Towboats For 2007 USA Water Ski Tournament Season

The American Water Ski Association announced the approved towboats from five boat manufacturers that will be used in AWSA sanctioned tournaments for 2007. The approved towboats were chosen after the annual evaluation conducted by the American Water Ski Association and American Barefoot Club in Central Florida last fall.

This year’s evaluation was done by the members of AWSA’s Towboat and Speed Control committees, technical experts, drivers and top water ski athletes. Each approved boat underwent a series of 11 tests and sub-tests that includes power and acceleration, handling and maneuverability.

Here are list of approved towboats for 2007 AWSA tournaments:

  • Correct Craft 196 (5.7L and 6.0L)
  • Correct Craft 206 (5.7L and 6.0L)
  • Correct Craft SV211 (approved for Class C tournaments only)
  • Gekko GTR 22
  • Malibu Response LXi (5.7L and 6.2L)
  • MasterCraft Pro Star 190
  • MasterCraft ProStar 197 (5.7L and 6.0L)
  • Moomba Outback
  • Supra 20 Comp

The towboats that are approved for American Barefoot Club-sanctioned tournaments in 2007 are:

  • Gekko GTR 22
  • Malibu Response LXi
  • Sanger Barefoot DXll
