A Glimpse To Canadian Water Skiers
I stumbled upon the interview of Schnitzskis to Whitney McClintock and I really like some of the facts that I discovered from this young water skiing champion and the Canadian water skiers in general. I learned that some Canadian water skiers really go in Florida just to practice water skiing in most time of the year.
It is also amazing to know that Whitney McClintock is only 16 years old girl with whopping accomplishments in water skiing (slalom, trick and jump). In fact, as of this writing, Whitney just placed first in slalom, tricks and jump hence, won the women’s open overall title in the 2008 Canadian Water Skiing Championships held a week ago at the Summerski Water Ski Club in Newmarket, Ontario.
Another interesting fact about this Canadian water skier is that she is being trained by Matt Rini for more than 6 years now. She is also being practiced by Jaret Llewellyn , another Canadian and a truly professional water skiing champion who also bagged the men’s open overall crown at the 2008 Canadian Water Skiing Championships.
Well, reading the interview is very inspiring because water skiing is such a versatile sport that you can do while pursuing another career. From the said interview, the only drawback of this water sport is that it is slightly an expensive sport especially if you are already competing.
That is why, several professional water skiers like Jaret Llewellyn devote some of their free time to teach young skiers to succeed in this water sport. And as for Whitney, she already started to coach some of the Canadian Junior Team skiers and aims to be able to continue coaching for years to come.
I also found a nice video about Jaret Llewellyn talks about his life, sport, accomplishments. You can check it out here.
